1. Provide your name, major, year in school.

My name is Juliet Quisenberry. I am a Communication Design major and a junior.
  2. 2. Tell us a bit about your background and what prompted you to take this class.

I love design and illustration. I am hoping this class teaches me more about what's happening behind the scenes in a lot of the digital designs I make, like when I'm working on my website. I want to be as educated and well-rounded of a designer as possible and I hope this class will help contribute to that!
  3. 3. Do you have any experience with HTML/CSS/JS? If so, tell us a bit about it.

The only experience I have is with the brief project I had last year in Type 1 where we had to typeset an essay in html to be responsive to a couple different screen sizes.
  4. 4. Name one thing you hope to learn in this class.

I just want to feel more comfortable and confident reading code, and not so completly overwhelmed by it, like I kind of am right now.
  5. 5. Name one way you expect designing for screen to be different from designing for paper.

I image it is going to be much more reactive. I think I will also have to be much more intentional with what I'm doing, becuase seeing my work requires some saving and reloading.
  6. 6. Provide a link to a website you think exemplifies effective design. Explain your choice.

I think Cosmos exemplifies effective design because every button is where you want it to be, it is easy to navigate while having a lot of different features, and it really only shows you things that you want to see.
  7. 7. Provide a link to a website you think exemplifies effective communication. Explain your choice.

I think The New Yorker exemplifies effective communication because it shows a large amount of stories, magazine issues, games, etc in a really currated and organized way.
  8. 8. Provide a link to a website you think works well. Explain your choice.

Benjie is the company that I interned for this summer. I always liked their website because I think the brand identity is very strong. It feels very playful and fun, while still being super functional and easy to navigate
